Tomoko & Konata If you think about it, Konata represented peak mid/late 2000s otaku culture where otaku culture was everywhere and mostly seen as cute and quirky while Tomoko represented peak mid/late 2010s otaku culture where otaku culture turned into a niched and hidden controversy where people began to criticize otakus and shut-ins lol
